I am a Baltimore based artist who grew up in South Florida. My parents hail from Mississippi and Florida I am find myself to be a mix of both southern heritage and Florida culture. I enjoy cigars, wine, and talking deeply about almost anything with my loved ones - that is very much of what Directive Art is about - connecting deeply. My primary focus is to do as much art in as many explosively unique ways as possible.

Pattern As Language

When I first started drawing what would become “Directive Art“ I was simply doodling, it wasn’t until I put some logic behind it that it opened my eyes up to what I could “say“.

Each pattern represents an existential state of being or an action. After starting to think through the designs I settled on 22 different patterns that spoke to me and I apply them to everything in the world around me. I am excited to share my art with the world and to speak in my very unique way.

Types of work I am focused on?

There are two spaces I am interested in working in and creating. First, is the personal powerful pieces and second are communal & commercial spaces. I want my art to engage people in a way that makes them think very deeply - even when they step away from a piece.

I am interested in breaking into the large print media arena. and designing sets for third places, places of learning, and travel spaces. I believe that this form of art can create tons of discussion and build unique engagement. And now in a semi re-gathered world, is the time to engage that type of thoughtful art.
